GREEN KEEPER AFRICA is a Beninese company created in 2014 by David
GNONLONFOUN and Fohla MOUFTAOU. The company designs, manufactures and markets 100% organic absorbers aimed at professionals to control leakage of polluting products and operates on the local and international markets.
Our challenge was to find innovative solutions where others saw difficulties. The Water Hyacinth, an invasive plant carrying numerous adverse consequences for the population, biodiversity and water quality, has enabled us to take up this challenge. After extensive studies and numerous exchanges we discovered its high absorption capacity: Up to 12 times its weight! Hence the idea of transforming it into an absorbent fiber for the control of polluting products’ leaks:
- The continuous harvesting of this plant, instead of its eradication, allows to decrease its negative impact and makes the processing of this biomass profitable.
- Ecology therefore links to positive economical and social impacts. Three targets with one plant!
Today, thanks to our 5 years experience in industrial processes’ valorization of Water Hyacinth, we have undertaken the company’s new growth phase. This new phase includes, on the one hand, the professionalization of current manufacturing processes for absorbent materials and solutions to combat industrial pollution and, on the other hand, the development of new sectors such as manufacturing of eco-materials for construction, Biochar production, used as fertilizer and water-keeper for agricultural soils and boiler-making to manufacture industrial decanters.
Every day, we draw on natural operating chains - biomimicry - to innovate effectively and to propose industrial solutions adapted to local challenges and specificities. GREEN KEEPER AFRICA’s solutions mirror the population, as well as industrialists and companies’ economic and environmental expectations. This is why we promote collective intelligence and collaborative innovation.
We are GREEN KEEPER AFRICA, experts in natural solutions for industries and communities.
